Job Description

Job Title: Financial Director

Location: Singapore

Job Overview:

We are seeking an accomplished and strategic Financial Director to lead the financial operations of our organization. The Financial Director will be responsible for overseeing the entire financial management process, including financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and compliance. As a senior leader, you will work closely with the executive team to drive the company's growth and profitability while ensuring financial stability and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Financial Leadership: Lead the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with the company's business goals and long-term strategy.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate financial reports and analysis to senior management and the board of directors. Provide insights into key financial metrics and performance indicators.
  • Cash Flow & Capital Management: Manage cash flow, liquidity, investments, and capital expenditures, ensuring the efficient use of company resources.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks, including market risks, operational risks, and compliance risks. Implement robust financial controls to protect the company's assets.
  • Compliance & Regulatory Oversight: Ensure compliance with local and international financial regulations (e.g., IFRS, Singapore FRS) and tax laws. Oversee audits and ensure timely submission of tax filings.
  • Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop the finance team. Provide direction and support to ensure efficient operations and professional growth within the team.
  • Strategic Planning & Decision-Making: Partner with senior leadership and other departments to drive business decisions, operational improvements, and strategic initiatives (e.g., M&A, restructuring, expansions).
  • Investor & Stakeholder Relations: Maintain and strengthen relationships with investors, banks, and other financial stakeholders. Lead financial discussions and reports to stakeholders, providing transparency into the company's financial health.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and technological innovations in finance. Implement best practices and continuous improvements in financial processes and systems.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree (e.g., MBA) or professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is highly desirable.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in financial management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role (Financial Controller, Finance Manager, or equivalent). Experience in a senior financial management position is essential.
  • Technical Skills: Strong expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, financial analysis, and compliance. Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar systems). Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial modeling.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and develop teams, with a collaborative and hands-on management style. Ability to influence and drive decision-making at the executive level.
  • Strategic Thinking: Strong business acumen and a strategic mindset, with the ability to identify opportunities for growth, cost efficiencies, and risk mitigation.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of local (Singapore) and international financial regulations, tax laws, and compliance standards.
  • Language Skills: Proficiency in English is required. Fluency in other languages is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and strategic business growth.
  • Familiarity with the latest financial technologies (FinTech) and digital transformation in finance.
  • Experience in leading the financial operations of a fast-growing or global company.
