Position Overview
K2 Therapeutics is seeking a capable and detail-oriented Financial Controller to support the company's growing finance function. This role will be responsible for day-to-day financial operations, accounting, and reporting, and will play an important role in establishing scalable financial processes and controls appropriate for a venture-backed biotechnology company.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, payroll coordination, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow monitoring under the guidance of the CFO.
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation to ensure audit readiness.
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of financial controls, policies, and procedures.
- Coordinate with external service providers, including auditors, tax advisors, and corporate secretarial firms.
- Support regulatory, tax, and statutory filings across Singapore and other relevant jurisdictions.
- Assist with finance-related aspects of fundraising, transactions, and investor reporting as needed.
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis and operational support to the CFO and broader management team.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 35 years of relevant experience in accounting, financial control, or audit, preferably within biotech or related venture-backed companies.
- Professional accounting qualification
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting requirements.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with accounting systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a small, growing organization with cross-border activities.
- Experiences with a startup a plus. Willingness to help with other functions in a startup environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with senior leadership.
- Ownership mindset and self motivated.
- Bilingual fluency is preferred.
