Job Description

Principal Responsibilities

1. Operational Management:

  • 1.1 Financial planning and target achievement:

a. Provides leadership in financial planning and decision making to ensure maximization of shareholders value and return.

b. Able to drive the right strategies to bring the organization towards the financial goals/target in a complex and challenging environment.

c. Experienced providing advice and support to other functions in all key commercial decisions, covering operation and commercial aspects of the business.

d. Providing the right analysis and advice from financial and commercial perspectives on business decision to deliver the maximum value for Area (Singapore and Malaysia) combined.

e. Responsible for directing, leading and coordinating the Annual Plan process including procedures for compiling, monitoring and analyzing consolidated financials as well as monitoring performance against Annual Plan.

f. Monitors financial performance and provides financial expertise to line management/Country Leadership team in development of corrective actions for target achievement.

g. Evaluates and challenges the business plan and capital expenditures, always striving for highly profitable and sustainable growth.

h. Accountable for the integrity of the financial results of the company.

  • 1.2 Financial Accounting and Reporting:

i. Oversees accounting and reporting processes within the country and ensures highly efficient setup, ensuring proper and correct accounting of results and financial operations.

j. Ensures compliance of key performance indicators, Linde accounting and local accounting standards.

k. Ensures the existence of a robust financial controls environment and promoting ownership of financial controls within the company including process compliance and tax compliance.

l. Manages Linde's tax and treasury practice within the countries, working closely with Corporate Tax and Treasury departments for full alignment and compliance.

m. Ensures good corporate governance including compliance with statutory requirements.

2. Leadership:

a. Manages, strengthens and further develops, together with HR function, the finance employees to build a strong and motivated finance team.

b. Supporting teams in their career development, ensuring Finance teams have the tools, training and resources to optimize performance.

3. Advocates best practice and supports continuous improvement activities. Challenges the status quo and bring value to productivity for the countries (Singapore and Malaysia)

4. Responds to ad-hoc requests from Linde Corporate Group and Regional Office. Delivery of expectations within tight timeline.

5. Performs other tasks or initiatives as directed by line manager. Experiences in M&A (Merger & Acquisition) and large CAPEX (Capital Expenditure) controlling appreciated.

Required Qualifications/Experience


- Accounting degree and recognized general accounting qualification and/or MBA or comparable business degree.

- At least 5-7 years management experience in the following areas: financial accounting, management accounting, budgetary control, business partnering, treasury & tax, internal controls and corporate governance.

- At least 10 years of experiences in the industrial business, preferably oil and gas industry.

- Experiences in M&A (Merger & Acquisition) and large CAPEX (Capital Expenditure) controlling appreciated.
