Reporting to the General Manager, you shall responsible for leading the finance team for the hotel, taking full ownership of hotel finance matters(planning, performance management, governance etc) and partnering with operations to drive financial performance and profitability.
Financial Leadership & Business Partnering
- In-charge of all hotel finance matters and financial performance
- Strategic partner to the General Manager and department heads
- Provide financial insights, analysis, and recommendations to support decision-making
- Drive financial discipline across all hotel functions
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with all departments
- Prepare periodic forecasts (monthly/quarterly) to reflect business performance
- Analyse variances between actuals, budget, and forecasts, and provide actionable insights
- Continuously refine forecasts based on market trends and operational changes
- Support long-term financial planning and scenario analysis
SharedServices Team (SST) Coordination
- Work closely with shared services team (SST) handling Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and General Ledger (GL)
- Review and validate financial data, reconciliations, and reports prepared by shared services
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial information
- Drive service quality and resolve operational issues with shared services
Financial Reporting & Control
- Oversee timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and corporate policies
- Maintain strong internal controls and financial governance
- Lead month-end and year-end close reviews
Cost Control & Profitability Management
- Monitor and control operating costs across departments
- Analyze revenue streams, margins, and departmental profitability
- Support pricing strategies and revenue optimization initiatives
- Identify cost-saving and efficiency improvement opportunities
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, tax requirements, and corporate policies
- Manage internal and external audits
- Oversee risk management and internal control frameworks
Cash Flow & Working Capital
- Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and banking matters
- Oversee collections and payments via shared services
- Ensure effective working capital management and cash controls
Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with department heads to align financial and operational goals
- Provide financial guidance and training to non-finance stakeholders
- Act as the main finance point of contact within the hotel
- Perform any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by General Manager from time to time
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 5 years experience in the hotel sector, of which at least 2 years as Assistant Finance Manager (supervisory role)
- Prior working experience in a hotel with shared services model will be an added advantage
- Knowledge in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
- Knowledge of hotel financial operations and KPIs
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and high level of multi-tasking
- Display professionalism with positive attitude
