Job description

As the Executive, Liner, you are responsible for managing the operations of the liner division. This includes overseeing the movement of cargo, negotiating rates with agents, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS

  • Calculate the NTV (net to vessel) & profit and loss in justifying the rates/volume inbound/outbound. Rates are adjusted as necessary based on market conditions and operational considerations to optimize profit.
  • Analyze equipment availability to ensure smooth achievement of set outbound targets, and plan container repositioning where necessary to meet demand.
  • Optimize COC allocation to ensure that shipping capacity is utilized efficiently, and make adjustments as needed to address changing market conditions.
  • Set a minimum rate guideline (MRG) for agents based on market demand/container situation and approve rates proposed by agents in the system.
  • Perform feasibility studies on 3rd party loadings and ensure billings are accurate.
  • Monitor forecast/volume and budget based on cargo space, rates and equipment.
  • Liaise with agents to discuss and guide them in achieving their sales targets, and provide regular feedback on performance.
  • Ensure that costs are kept under control and up-to-date, and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality or customer service.
  • Resolve and attend to all trade issues matters in an efficient manner, and work with internal departments to develop solutions that meet customer needs while maintaining profitability
  • Research and understand market and competitor developments, and identify potential opportunities and threats to the business.
  • Engage agents on a regular basis and discuss/implement how to grow COC volume and identify new markets/customers.
  • Evaluate business processes and suggest ways to improve for more efficiency.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior team members as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Preferably Diploma/Degree in Maritime related field
  • Minimum of 1 years of experience in liner shipping or related field.
  • Fresh graduates are welcome to apply for the executive position.
