Job Description

General Job Description
The Finance Executive is responsible for the operations of the finance department, for maintaining accurate financial statements in accordance with relevant finance related policies and accounting standards and for liaising with external auditors to ensure that financial audits are performed in a timely manner so thataudited financial statements can be filed with the relevant authorities before filing deadlines. In addition, the Executive will assist in all areas where the finance department's input is required. These include, grant applications, budgeting and management reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
Operations in accordance with appropriate accounting standards and standard operating procedures:

  • Payment processing
  • Reviewing expense claims
  • Recording journal entries
  • Month-end closing
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Management reporting
  • Liaise with external auditors, Archdiocesan organsations and government agencies where required
  • Verification of payments for management approval
  • Conduct checks and implement controls to ensure proper accounting records and to safeguard against misappropriation of assets.

Grant applications, budgets and reports

  • Provide finance related inputs for grant applications.
  • Assist management with the collection and analysis of financial information.
  • Assist in the yearly budget exercise.
  • Monitor the implementation of financial plans and budgets.
  • Prepare budget and financial reports / statements in accordance with professional and regulatory standards for management reporting.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of approved financial reports, statements and claims.

Donation processing

  • Record and process incoming donations (online, cash, cheque, in-kind) and ensure donations are accurately categorised and recorded in ACMI's financial statements
  • Generate and send donation receipts and thank-you letters in a timely manner.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate donor records in the CRM database.
  • Filing of yearly donation records with the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS).

Skills development course enrollment

  • Track and reconcile payments received for student enrolments with financial records.
  • Process approved fee refunds and ensure compliance with refund policies.
  • Provide advice, assistance, and support to all Departments on finance- related matters and queries.
  • Undertake any other projects or roles as assigned.


Qualifications, Educational Requirements and Required Experience
Tertiary education in Accountancy or any Business / Finance-related disciplines or equivalent or Accounting Certification.

At least 5 years of working experience in Finance / Accounting.

Must be able to generate a complete set of financial statements.

Knowledge of consolidation is a plus.

Familiar with the Non-profit / Charities sector and its regulations.

Good knowledge and skills in MS Office and technologically savvy.
