Job Description
Responsibilities:
The candidate manages all areas relating to finance operations, financial reporting, management analysis, and treasury management. The candidate plays a key role in ensuring that financial policies, procedures, and records adhere to financial reporting standards, statutory requirements and the Code of Governance.
He/ She shall be tasked to carry out the following duties:
- Oversee and lead the Finance Department in all aspects, including but not limited to, arrears management, payments, fixed assets management, budget monitoring and reconciliations.
- Provide financial analysis of the organisation's performance through timely and accurate reporting
- Prepare financial statements and audit schedules in compliance with financial reporting standards and statutory requirements
- Oversee and work with all levels of stakeholders on annual budget and supplementary budget exercise (where applicable)
- Treasury Management in monitoring expenditures and weekly cash flow forecast for various funds types.
- Conducting comprehensive financial analysis to assess investment opportunities and risks and providing recommendations to optimize portfolio performance.
- Formulate strategic short-term and long-term financial plans for the organisation
- Manage tax-related matters and statutory tax submissions
- Liaise with auditors, bankers, tax agents, government agencies etc
- Administering government grant claims and performing statutory transfers in accordance to stipulated timeframe.
- Coordinate and administer finance and audit committees meetings
- Present decision papers and financial reports at Town Council meetings
- Any other assigned duties/responsibilities as prescribed/assigned by Management.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree in Accountancy and/or other accounting qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of Managerial level with relevant working experience
- Strong communications skills, including written and presentation skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to engage stakeholders across all levels of seniority.
- Independent, meticulous and able to work with tight deadlines.
