Job Description

ROLE OVERVIEW:

My client are seeking a capable and driven Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Engineer to support the design, engineering, and execution of offshore and marine projects, focusing on living quarters. The ideal candidate will have strong technical grounding in electrical and instrumentation systems, with exposure to international standards and project execution environments especially for the GCC Region.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform electrical and instrumentation design engineering for offshore platforms, vessels, and living quarters systems.
  • Prepare and review key engineering deliverables, including:
  • Single line diagrams (SLDs)
  • Load lists and power distribution systems
  • Cable routing layouts and schedules
  • Instrumentation loop diagrams and hook-ups
  • Ensure compliance with classification society rules (e.g. ABS, DNV, RINA) and international standards (IEC, API).
  • Interface with multi-disciplinary teams (structural, HVAC, architectural, piping) to ensure coordinated design delivery.
  • Support procurement activities, including technical bid evaluations and vendor document reviews.
  • Develop factory acceptance test (FAT) and site commissioning procedures.
  • Provide site engineering support, including troubleshooting and commissioning activities when required.
  • Participate in design reviews, HAZID/HAZOP, and client technical discussions.
    Participate in proposal and tender activities, including preparation of technical inputs and cost estimation.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 - 7 years of relevant experience in offshore, marine, or EPC environments.
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • Power generation and distribution systems
  • Instrumentation and control systems
  • Hazardous area classification (ATEX / IECEx)
  • Familiarity with IEC, API, and classification society rules.
  • Proficiency in engineering tools such as AutoCAD experience with E3D, SP3D, or Revit is an advantage.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
  • Demonstrates strong ability to coordinate with end clients and key stakeholders, ensuring alignment on technical and project requirements.
  • Proven involvement in projects with major oil & gas operators such as Qatar Energy, Shell, or equivalent international operators.
  • Experience in offshore platform / living quarters, FPSO, or shipyard environments.
  • Hands-on experience in commissioning and offshore site support.
