Job Description

Job Purpose

The WSH Coordinator will assist the WSH Officer (WSHO) and the project team in the implementation, coordination, and maintenance of the Project's Safety, Health, and Environmental Management System. The primary goal is to ensure all site activities comply with the Workplace Safety and Health Act, NEA requirements, and project-specific procedures, fostering a strong safety culture and preventing incidents.

Key Responsibilities

1. Safety Compliance & Implementation

  • Assist the WSHO in implementing and enforcing the project's WSH policies, risk assessments, and Safe Work Procedures.
  • Conduct daily site inspections and safety walkdowns to identify unsafe conditions, unsafe acts, and potential hazards. Recommend and follow up on rectification works.
  • Monitor high-risk activities specific to the project, including work at height, confined space entry, lifting operations, and hot work. Conduct gas testing for hot work activities as required .
  • Ensure all personnel are equipped with and properly use the necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) .
  • Support the WSHO in monitoring the project's compliance with Singapore's Green Mark initiatives and environmental control plans .

2. Training & Communication

  • Assist in conducting safety inductions, orientations, and mass toolbox meetings for all site personnel, including workers and sub-contractors .
  • Promote safety awareness through campaigns, toolboxes, and safety alerts .
  • Liaise with sub-contractor supervisors and their WSH coordinators to ensure alignment with project safety requirements .

3. Incident Management & Emergency Response

  • Take charge in the event of an accident or emergency, organizing treatment for the injured, evacuation, and notifying emergency services and project management .
  • Assist the WSHO in conducting incident investigations, root cause analysis, and documenting reports to prevent recurrence .
  • Support the planning and execution of emergency response drills (e.g., fire evacuation, chemical spill response) .

4. Documentation & Inspection of Equipment

  • Maintain and file all safety-related documents, including inspection checklists, permits-to-work, training records, and statutory reports .
  • Inspect and verify that all statutory equipment (e.g., lifting gear, machines, fire-fighting equipment, first-aid kits) are in good working condition and hold valid certifications .
  • Ensure monthly color-coding of lifting gear is up to date

5. General Support

  • Maintain the safety observation spreadsheet and track the closure of corrective actions .
  • Assist the RSTO SHE team or project management with any other safety-related tasks as assigned .

Requirements

  • Min 2 to 3 Years Relevant Work Experience (C&S RC /building work)
  • Bachelor Degree (preferably construction/ civil/ structural
  • Proficient in English writing and speaking.
  • Microsoft application (words, excel, ppt etc)
