Job Summary
As Director of Resort Entertainment for Marina Bay Sands, you will lead the strategic development and execution of entertainment programming tailored to the Asia and Greater China markets. Reporting to the Executive Director, you will be responsible for curating culturally resonant, commercially viable, and world-class entertainment experiences that elevate Marina Bay Sands as the premier integrated resort destination in the region.
This role requires a deep understanding of regional entertainment trends, strong industry relationships across Asia and China, and the ability to translate market insights into compelling programming. You will work with the wider Resort Entertainment team and multiple departments within the Marina Bay Sands environment, drive partnerships with promoters and celebrities, and ensure seamless delivery of events and concerts that meet the highest standards of guest experience and operational excellence.
Job Responsibilities
Strategic Programming & Market Development
- Develop and execute a strategic entertainment roadmap focused on Asia and China, aligned with Marina Bay Sands brand and business objectives.
- Identify and secure high-impact entertainment formats, artists, and experiences that resonate with regional audiences.
- Monitor entertainment trends, touring schedules, and cultural movements across Asia to inform programming decisions.
Partnerships & Business Development
- Cultivate relationships with promoters, production houses, artist agencies, and cultural institutions in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, and Southeast Asia.
- Lead negotiations and deal structuring for entertainment partnerships, co-productions, and touring shows.
- Represent Marina Bay Sands at key industry events, trade shows, and professional forums to promote the resort's entertainment capabilities.
Operational Leadership
- Oversee the end-to-end planning and execution of entertainment events, ensuring excellence in production, guest experience, and brand alignment.
- Collaborate with internal departments (MICE, Marketing, F&B, Security, Facilities) and external stakeholders to ensure operational readiness.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, licensing requirements, and cultural sensitivities across markets.
Team & Financial Management
- Lead and mentor a team of entertainment professionals, fostering a culture of creativity, accountability, and collaboration.
- Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial performance of entertainment initiatives, ensuring ROI and cost control.
- Prepare executive reports, post-event analyses, and strategic recommendations for future programming.
Job Requirements
Education & Certification
- Bachelor's degree in Entertainment Management, Business, Arts, or related field Master's degree preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in live entertainment, venue operations, or cultural programming, or event management with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven success in developing and executing entertainment and event strategies in Asia and/or China.
- Strong network of industry contacts across the region.
Other Prerequisites
- Fluent in English proficiency in Mandarin or other Asian languages is highly advantageous.
- Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Willingness to travel frequently and work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
