The Director Medical PMO is responsible for leading the Project Management Office (PMO) for our Medical products and Strategic Projects (digital microscopy, Image Processing, next generation digital microscopy, augmented reality, clinical applications, China for China) in the Global R&D organization and fosters an environment that delivers innovation, high product quality and on-time delivery of projects within our product portfolio.

This position reports to the Vice President Medical Business Unit and is part of the Medical Business Unit located in Singaporeand will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop and improves cross functional processes to deliver new products to market on time with world class quality
  • Provides leadership and direction to the Medical Project Management Office through global Project Managers, ensuring standardization of processes, tools, and reporting across sites.
  • Act as primary owner of PMO processes, ensuring consistency, transparency, and disciplined execution that contribute to the success of the Medical BU strategy
  • Partner with VP Medical BU to build cross-functional capability and ensure focus on key strategic programs.
  • Own end-to-end project delivery performance (scope, schedule, budget, risk) of the global Medical portfolio (New Product Introduction projects as well as Life Cycle Management projects of the active portfolio).
  • Drive a culture of customer-focused innovation supported by clear processes, tools, and decision frameworks.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a global PMO team.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • 10+ years of experience in R&D project/program management, preferably in medical devices, acceptable in other regulated, or complex opto-/electro-mechanical systems industries.
  • Proven success delivering complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects on time and within scope and quality.
  • Experience leading distributed teams across time zones.
  • Strong understanding of product development lifecycle, including hardware, software, and design transfer.
  • Familiarity with regulated environments (ISO 13485, IEC standards, etc.).
  • Experience with lean project management, agile practices, and continuous improvement.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Physics, Life Science, or related technical field.
