Fencing Singapore (FS), the High Performance Sport Institute (HPSI), and the Singapore Sports School (SSP) are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to lead the Fencing High Performance Pathway Programme, also known as the National Fencing Programme (NFP) across all weapon groups.
The Deputy Programme Director (DPD) serves as the operational bridge of the Fencing High Performance Pathway Programme, also known as the National Fencing Programme (NFP), for all weapon groups. In this capacity, the DPD ensures that overarching vision and policy are effectively translated into structured training delivery, positioning the High Performance (HP) team to achieve long-term competitive objectives. The role also safeguards alignment between sporting ambitions and Fencing Singapore's (FS) administrative and financial governance, reinforcing the programme's sustainability and strategic coherence.
This role reports directly to the Programme Director (PD) and provides supervision to the National Coaches and the High Performance Manager. It also requires close collaboration with the General Manager (GM) and Finance & Administrative Manager to ensure compliance with administrative requirements and uphold corporate governance standards.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
1) National Training Centre (NTC) Management:
. Lead daily operations at the NTC, overseeing training schedules and facility upkeep.
. Work in coordination with the Secretariat team to ensure the NTC logistics effectively support the HP training needs.
2) Staff Management and Performance:
. Provide direct oversight and performance appraisal for National Coaches and the High Performance Manager.
. Ensure all coaching staff comply with the policies and technical directives set by the Programme Director.
3) Operational and Financial Liaison:
. Serve as the primary internal counterpart to the Finance Manager in monitoring HP expenditure, claims, and budget utilization.
. Ensure all HP operations comply with established financial approval workflows and conform to SportSG regulatory requirements.
4) Pathway and Pipeline Execution:
. Oversee the seamless progression of athletes through the high-performance pathway, ensuring consistent transition from junior development squads to the senior National Training team.
. Administer athlete tracking systems and conduct periodic performance reviews to maintain continuity in development and sustained competitive growth.
5) Stakeholder Engagement:
. Maintain close working relationships with HPSI, the Singapore Sports School (SSP), and affiliates to ensure effective coordination and seamless programme integration.
