Key Responsibilities

1. Infrastructure Ownership

  • Own end-to-end infrastructure stack:

. Data center (on-prem)
. Virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware/Hyper-V)
. Windows/Linux servers
. Storage & backup
. Network (LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPN)
.End-user compute

  • Ensure availability, performance, and resilience of all production systems
  • Maintain DR capability and conduct regular DR testing
  • Manage patching, upgrades, and lifecycle planning
  • Act as Level 3 escalation point for incidents

2. Cybersecurity & Compliance

  • Implement and maintain infrastructure security controls
  • Support regulatory and audit requirements (e.g., MAS TRM or equivalent frameworks)
  • Oversee vulnerability management and remediation
  • Ensure backup integrity and ransomware readiness
  • Partner with Risk/Compliance teams on audit responses

3. Modernization & Automation

  • Drive gradual modernization roadmap (e.g., hybrid cloud, automation, infra-as-code where relevant)
  • Improve monitoring and observability
  • Reduce manual interventions through automation
  • Rationalize infrastructure costs (license, hardware, support contracts)
  • Evaluate cloud readiness and migration feasibility

4. Vendor & Contract Management

  • Manage relationships with infrastructure vendors and MSPs
  • Review SLAs and performance
  • Support renewals negotiation and optimize cost structures
  • Clear establishment of roles & responsibilities with vendors with focus on Third Party Risk Management
  • Oversee hardware procurement and lifecycle management

5. Governance & Documentation

  • Maintain architecture diagrams and configuration documentation
  • Establish infrastructure standards and policies
  • Ensure change management discipline
  • Support business continuity planning

Requirements

Mandatory:

  • 10-15+ years in infrastructure engineering/operations
  • Experience in insurance, financial services, or other regulated industries preferred
  • Strong hands-on expertise in:

. VMware or similar virtualization
. Windows Server & Active Directory
. Backup & recovery solutions
. Enterprise networking & firewalls
. Endpoint management
. Observability/ monitoring tools

  • Experience supporting mission-critical systems
  • Excellent communication skills (written & oral) in English
  • IT Service Management and understanding of Ticketing Tools
  • Good exposure to cloud platforms (Azure/AWS) and has been a part of Cloud migration project in the past with solid understanding of Cloud technology and FinOps
  • Experience managing DR and business continuity
