Role Summary
The Infrastructure Lead will own the end-to-end stewardship of the OpenShift container platform and underlying Kubernetes ecosystem, ensuring platform resilience, security compliance, and operational excellence. The role requires strong cross-functional engagement with internal infrastructure teams and external counterparts, notably GIPS stakeholders, while maintaining rigorous governance across patching, vulnerability management, and lifecycle operations.
Key Responsibilities
Platform Ownership & Operations
Provide strategic and operational leadership for the OpenShift container platform, including Kubernetes cluster management across development, testing, and production environments.
Oversee containerized application hosting, infrastructure capacity planning, and platform scalability.
Manage batch processing workloads and scheduled updates within containerized and hybrid infrastructure landscapes.
Infrastructure & Application Management
Ensure seamless integration and operational stability across applications, infrastructure, and platform services.
Drive standardization and automation for deployments, upgrades, and operational runbooks.
Partner with application teams to enable reliable, secure, and performant workloads on Kubernetes.
Security, Patch & Vulnerability Management
Own end-to-end patch management processes, including post-patch vulnerability validation and remediation.
Lead ongoing infrastructure patch maintenance covering OS, container runtime, Kubernetes, and OpenShift components.
Proactively manage hardware, security, and platform vulnerabilities, ensuring alignment with enterprise security policies and regulatory expectations.
Act as the primary escalation point for infra-related security incidents and audit findings.
Financial & Balance Sheet Management
Provide oversight on infrastructure cost management, capacity utilization, and financial optimization.
Support balance sheet governance through effective asset lifecycle management, cost controls, and infrastructure investment planning.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
Act as the key liaison with infrastructure counterparts across the organization, with a strong emphasis on coordination with GIPS teams within .
Drive alignment across internal infra, security, and operations teams to ensure cohesive delivery.
Manage vendor relationships related to platform, hardware, and tooling support.
Governance & Continuous Improvement
Ensure infrastructure operations adhere to enterprise standards, risk controls, and compliance frameworks.
Identify opportunities for operational efficiency, resilience improvement, and technology uplift within the container and infrastructure stack.
Contribute to infrastructure roadmaps and strategic initiatives.
Required Skills & Experience
Proven experience leading enterprise infrastructure platforms, with deep expertise in OpenShift and Kubernetes.
Strong hands-on knowledge of container orchestration, platform lifecycle management, and batch workload handling.
Demonstrated experience in patch management, security vulnerability remediation, and infrastructure risk management.
Solid understanding of hardware, OS, container, and platform-level vulnerabilities.
Experience working in regulated or large financial services environments is highly preferred.
Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience liaising across regional or group infrastructure teams.
Financial acumen with exposure to infrastructure cost management and balance sheet considerations.
