Job Description

Peak Ocean is seeking a Deputy Department Manager for LNG Vessel Maritime Supervision division in Singapore. This role requires a seasoned professional with a deep technical background in LNG operations and the leadership capability to drive departmental excellence.

Job Purpose: Under the leadership of the Department Manager, take full charge of the company's LNG vessel maritime supervision, commercial operations and daily operation management, ensure compliance with LNG industry-specific norms, international conventions and company regulations, and coordinate the efficient and safe operation of all LNG vessel businesses.

Key Job Responsibilities

LNG Vessel Maritime Supervision & Compliance

  • Guide and supervise the ship management company's special maritime supervision work for LNG vessels, guide ships to strictly comply with LNG industry-specific international conventions (SOLAS, MARPOL, IGF Code, etc.), national maritime laws and regulations, and regional port/navigation provisions supervise the implementation of LNG vessel special safety operation procedures and ensure compliance with gas carrier operation standards

LNG Vessel Commercial & Operational Management

  • Take overall responsibility for the full-process commercial operations of operational LNG vessels, including daily operation supervision, rent/freight collection and settlement of LNG shipping projects, and professional fuel management for LNG vessel main engine and fuel gas systems track the operation efficiency of LNG vessels and optimize operational cost control programs.

LNG Industry International Maritime Coordination

  • Guide and supervise the ship management company's special regulation compliance supervision work for LNG vessels, Undertake professional communication and coordination with international official maritime organizations (ISO, ISM, ISPS, MPA, IMO) and LNG industry-specific institutions (gas carrier classification societies, LNG shipping associations) handle the approval, filing and certification of LNG vessel special operation qualifications, and timely follow up and implement the latest technical and regulatory updates of the LNG shipping industry.

LNG Vessel Operation Standardization & Team Guidance

  • Formulate and revise the company's LNG vessel special operation management system and operating procedures, and conduct professional training and guidance for the department's maritime and commercial teams on LNG shipping professional knowledge and operational norms supervise the daily work of subordinates, and coordinate the collaboration between maritime operation and commercial management posts for LNG vessel business.

LNG Shipping Market & Resource Coordination

  • Track the development trend of the international and domestic LNG shipping market, collect and analyze market information such as LNG shipping routes, freight rates and vessel supply and demand coordinate with ship management companies, LNG terminal ports, cargo owners and other cooperative parties to ensure the smooth connection of LNG vessel loading, unloading, navigation and other links.

Job Qualifications

  • College degree or above in Maritime Navigation, Shipping related majors Hold a Master/Chief Officer Certificate (unlimited or gas carrier endorsement), and LNG Gas Carrier Operation Related Qualification Certificate is preferred.
  • Familiar with LNG industry-specific international conventions and norms (IGF Code, SOLAS for gas carriers, MARPOL Annexes), national maritime laws and regulations Profound professional knowledge of LNG vessel commercial & operation management, gas carrier safety technology, low-temperature cargo operation and maritime law Master the basic rules of the international LNG shipping market and freight rate settlement.
  • Proficient in using various office software and network applications Skilled in operating LNG vessel related professional management systems (e.g., cargo operation monitoring system, safety management system) Familiar with LNG vessel insurance products and risk assessment methods for gas carriers.
  • Strong communication skills (able to conduct professional communication and document compilation for LNG shipping business) Excellent cross-department and cross-party coordination and communication capabilities Strong emergency decision-making and problem-solving capabilities for LNG vessel special situations Good team management and work scheduling capabilities.
  • Possess correct moral values and good professional ethics for the maritime industry Have strong self-discipline and self-management ability, and can bear the pressure of high-intensity LNG shipping operation management Be honest, upright, responsible and have a rigorous work attitude towards LNG vessel safety operation.
  • With more than 3 years of working experience as a Master/Chief Officer on ocean-going LNG gas carriers Over 10 years of experience in LNG/Gas carrier operation management or commercial management of LNG shipping projects Have experience in handling LNG vessel emergency incidents or insurance claims is preferred.
