The Cloud Solution Architect plays a critical role in helping customers modernize and transform their IT infrastructure using public cloud technologies. This role works closely with the Digital & Cloud Experts team to design, position, and deliver end-to-end cloud solutions that meet both technical and business needs.
The ideal candidate combines strong cloud architecture expertise with consultative and presales skills, and is comfortable engaging with customers, leading solution design, and supporting cloud adoption from strategy through implementation.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Architecture & Solution Design
- Design scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions aligned with customer business and technical requirements
- Architect solutions across AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud, supporting both current and future needs
- Develop cloud modernization roadmaps, including lift-and-shift, re-hosting, re-platforming, and refactoring strategies
- Ensure solutions follow best practices for performance, security, governance, and cost optimization
Presales & Customer Engagement
- Work closely with APAC presales teams to qualify opportunities, deliver solution demos, and provide cloud consulting expertise
- Lead responses to RFPs, RFQs, RFIs, and tenders, ensuring technical and commercial alignment
- Prepare high-quality deliverables such as HLDs, LLDs, technical proposals, and Bills of Materials (BoMs)
- Estimate cloud infrastructure, network, and security costs and validate financial feasibility
Cloud Transformation & Delivery
- Lead and support Proof of Concept (POC) and pilot engagements with customers
- Guide application, middleware, database, and infrastructure migration to the cloud
- Provide technical leadership during implementation to ensure solutions are delivered as designed
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
DevOps & Cloud-Native Technologies
- Apply DevOps and cloud-native principles including:
- Containers and Kubernetes
- Serverless and microservices
- CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code
- Support adoption of managed cloud operating models and modern application architectures
Stakeholder & Team Collaboration
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers throughout their cloud journey
- Collaborate with onshore, nearshore, and offshore teams to deliver consistent outcomes
- Mentor junior team members and share best practices across the cloud team
- Continuously improve cloud solutions by adopting new technologies and industry best practices
Required Experience
- 810 years of IT consulting or implementation experience, including:
- VMware vSphere and data centre environments
- Enterprise storage (NetApp, EMC) and server platforms (HP, Dell)
- 34 years of architecture and design experience for enterprise or distributed applications
- 23 years of hands-on public cloud experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Recent experience delivering large-scale production cloud deployments
- Strong understanding of public cloud pricing models and cost implications
- Experience designing on-premises to cloud transformation strategies
- Knowledge of:
- IaaS and PaaS architectures
- Containers, Kubernetes, and serverless technologies
- DevOps and CI/CD practices
- Enterprise integration and messaging patterns (SOA, ESB, EAI, ETL)
- Experience writing proposals and responding to tenders
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a matrix organization
Technical Skills
Public Cloud (AWS / Azure / GCP)
- Compute, storage, networking, and load balancing services
- Container platforms, serverless computing, and API gateways
Cloud Migration Tools
- AWS Migration Services, Azure Migration Tools, VMware, Turbonomic, Micro Focus, or similar
Automation & DevOps (Preferred)
- Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, ARM, Terraform or similar)
- CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy
Programming / Scripting (Nice to Have)
- Python, Java, Shell, PowerShell, or similar
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree (or equivalent experience)
- One or more of the following certifications preferred:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Google Cloud Professional Architect
Due to Hiring quota issue, you should be Singapore citizen or with Singapore Permanent Resident status.
Successful incumbent can expect remuneration of SGD10000 to SGD12000
