Role Description

This is a full-time, remote role of Client Director, Southeast Asia responsible for strengthening client relationships across the agency network and ensuring the highest standard of service delivery. The role focuses on actively supporting client-facing teams, deepening senior client engagement, and helping identify and convert growth opportunities within existing and prospective accounts.

The Director will work closely with account leads and practice leaders to guide client strategy, troubleshoot challenges, and elevate the quality of client service across the organization. A key part of the role involves participating in important client meetings, supporting complex engagements, and ensuring teams are aligned around delivering measurable value to clients.

In addition, the Director will oversee and contribute to new business opportunities, including helping shape proposals, advising on pitch strategy, and identifying areas where the agency can expand its work with existing clients. The role also involves mentoring client service teams, strengthening account management practices, and helping ensure consistency in how the agency engages with and delivers for its clients.

Success in this role requires strong client instincts, the ability to coach and support teams, and a commercial mindset focused on long-term client partnerships and sustainable growth.

Focus areas

  • Elevate the client experience, work excellence and strategic consultancy to clients
  • Drive revenue growth amongst clients; ensure satisfaction processes in place
  • Support new business efforts at the region and local market levels
  • Coach, mentor client leadership at all levels of the business

Responsibilities and deliverables:

Client leadership, security & growth

o Day-to-day client leadership and management of key clients

o Strategic counsel and planning

o Project management

o Editorial services and pitching where necessary (where needed)

o Issues management support (if needed)

o Organic growth of client accounts

o Attendance at key discussions for additional key clients, e.g. strategy and planning meeting

· On-the-job coaching and mentorship client directors and managers in the business

· Coordination and tracking of all client work, satisfaction and planning in the business

Business development

· In line with our business strategy/plan, identify targets for prospecting efforts, alternative routes into existing leads

· Secure new business leads regularly and lead those proposals to successful closes; supporting all offices in increasing their conversion rates

· Management of new business process with teams, develop greater comfort in sales and pitching situations with next-gen leadership

· Act as pitch doctor / consultant to teams on NBO proposals with a view to improving win rate and revenue potential

Process leadership

· Ensure our CX process is uniformly and professionally applied to all clients (minutes, internal/external WIPs, monthly reports, multiple-layers of relationship ownership)

· Ensure ERA's processes for client work, tactical work, planning, client service and in the businesses are regularly communicated, applied and policed

· Follow ERA's project finance, quotation, contracting, and other administrative policies, ensure team's do the same.

· Generally be familiar with ERA culture, ways of organizing, and the application of efficiency, satisfaction and growth measures across our business.

Qualifications

  • Proven expertise in Public Relations Account Management
  • Experience in consulting and providing strategic recommendations to clients
  • Strong team management and leadership capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability in sales and business development
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in navigating complex client environments and delivering measurable outcomes
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Communications, Marketing, or a relevant field
  • Prior experience in strategic communications is a significant advantage
