The Carpenter is responsible for the installation, repair, and replacement of doors, door frames, and related hardware in residential and commercial properties. This role focuses on precision fitting, alignment, and ensuring smooth operation while meeting safety and project standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install various types of doors
- Measure and prepare door openings to ensure proper fitting
- Assemble and install door frames, hinges, locks, handles, and accessories
- Carry out on-site adjustments to ensure proper alignment, leveling, and smooth closing
- Replace or repair damaged doors and frames
- Work closely with site supervisors, contractors, and interior designers
- Read and interpret drawings, site measurements, and specifications
- Ensure compliance with fire safety requirements (for fire-rated doors)
- Maintain tools and ensure safe work practices on-site
- Perform touch-ups, finishing, and basic carpentry works related to door installation
Requirements:
- Proven experience in door installation or carpentry (renovation / construction)
- Familiar with HDB / condo site work and regulations
- Knowledge of door hardware (locks, hinges, door closers, digital locks preferred)
- Ability to take accurate measurements and perform on-site adjustments
- Skilled in using hand tools and power tools
- Physically fit and able to carry doors and materials
- Able to work independently and in a team
