Role Profile

The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving membership growth and engagement in Singapore through high‑impact partnerships, targeted programmes and sustained stakeholder engagement. Reporting to the Head of Singapore, the role plays a critical part in positioning ICAEW as the professional body of choice for current and aspiring accountants, employers, educators and regulators across Singapore.

  • Plan and deliver high‑quality member engagement activities annually, including technical briefings, networking events, thought leadership and professional development programmes.
  • Build momentum and consistency in engagement through well‑sequenced annual plan, partnerships and communities.
  • Develop and execute a strategic business development plan to grow ICAEW's presence, relevance and membership in Singapore.
  • Ensure business development and engagement activities are executed efficiently and in line with ICAEW standards, policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the Head of Singapore as Secretariat to the Singapore Advisory Board (SAB) and support interest groups (e.g. Young Members, Financial Services), ensuring they are active, engaged and contributing meaningfully to the overall strategy and direction of ICAEW.
  • Proactively identify, develop and manage relationships with wider key stakeholders, which includes members, corporations, professional bodies and organisations, universities, training providers, employers, accounting firms and regulatory bodies.
  • Willingness to undertake additional duties and responsibilities outside this job description, as reasonably required to support team objectives and organisational priorities in a lean working environment.

What you will need;

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience in business development, member engagement and stakeholders management, preferably within the professional services or education sector.
  • Proven track record of delivering membership growth in a competitive market.
  • Understanding of the business environment, professional qualification landscape, and regulatory context in Singapore
  • Comfortable operating in a lean, fast-moving and flexible environment
  • Operate as one integrated team, flexing responsibilities as needed to deliver shared KPIs.
  • Take collective ownership of conversion, engagement and growth outcomes.
  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident or have the right to work in Singapore.
