Job Description

Position: Business Development Manager (Singapore / Payments & FinTech)

Role Overview

We are seeking a driven and well-connected Business Development Manager to lead our growth initiatives in Singapore and across Southeast Asia.

This role is responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding strategic partnerships, and identifying new business opportunities within the payments and fintech ecosystem. The ideal candidate should have strong industry knowledge, relevant market experience, and an established network across banks, payment institutions, and merchants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute business development and market expansion strategies in Singapore and Southeast Asia
  • Drive sales performance and revenue growth through new client acquisition and account expansion
  • Identify and establish partnerships with banks, payment institutions, PSPs, merchants, and ecosystem partners
  • Leverage existing industry network and resources to accelerate deal sourcing and conversion
  • Lead market entry and expansion initiatives into new regions or verticals (e.g. e-commerce, digital services, platforms)
  • Manage and strengthen client relationships to ensure long-term retention and growth
  • Work closely with compliance, product, and operations teams to support onboarding and solution delivery
  • Provide market intelligence and client feedback to senior management for strategic decision-making
  • Support and align with marketing initiatives to enhance brand visibility and lead generation

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 35 years of experience in payments, fintech, or related industries (e.g. acquiring, issuing, cross-border payments, PSP, card schemes)
  • Proven track record in business development, sales, and revenue generation
  • Strong industry network in Singapore / Southeast Asia (banks, payment partners, merchants preferred)
  • Good understanding of local regulatory environment (e.g. payment regulations, compliance requirements)
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and target-driven environment
  • Experience in cross-border payments or regional expansion is a strong advantage

Preferred (Nice to Have)

  • Experience working with licensed payment institutions or global payment companies
  • Familiarity with card schemes (Visa / Mastercard) and alternative payment methods
  • Multilingual capability (English + Chinese or Southeast Asian languages)
