The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving commercial growth, market expansion, and distributor development across selected APAC markets.
This role combines both direct sales execution and broader business development responsibilities, including strategic account development, channel partner management, market expansion initiatives, and customer adoption activities.
The successful candidate will engage with healthcare institutions, specialist clinics, clinicians, and distributor partners while contributing to the commercialization and long-term growth of an innovative medical technology platform.
The position requires a highly entrepreneurial and hands-on individual who is comfortable operating within a lean, fast-moving business environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive direct sales execution and commercial growth across assigned APAC markets
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across hospitals, healthcare institutions, and specialist clinics
- Build, manage, and expand distributor and channel partner networks
- Develop strong relationships with clinicians, healthcare stakeholders, procurement teams, and hospital administrators
- Support product commercialization and market adoption through consultative engagement and customer education
- Conduct product presentations, demonstrations, and training activities where required
- Identify new revenue streams, market segments, and strategic partnership opportunities
- Support regional go-to-market and expansion initiatives
- Monitor market trends, customer feedback, and competitive developments
- Maintain ownership of territory planning, forecasting, pipeline development, and commercial execution
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support broader business and commercialization objectives
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Life Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, or related discipline
- Minimum 5 years of experience within MedTech or medical device sales
- Proven track record in business development and commercial growth
- Experience managing distributor or channel partner networks within healthcare sectors
- Strong consultative selling skills with the ability to engage both clinical and administrative stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to open new markets or accounts
- Experience within surgical devices, specialty medical technologies, or healthcare commercialization environments is advantageous
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills
- Self-motivated with strong territory management and execution capability
- Comfortable operating within a fast-paced and evolving start-up environment
