Job Description & Requirements
1. Safe Driving & Passenger Transport
- Operate buses safely and responsibly in compliance with traffic laws and company policies
- Ensure the safety of all passengers, pedestrians, and other road users
- Follow assigned routes and schedules efficiently
2. Passenger Service
- Provide excellent customer service to passengers
- Assist passengers in boarding and alighting, including elderly and disabled individuals
- Respond politely to passenger inquiries and concerns
3. Vehicle Inspection & Maintenance
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus
- Check fuel level, brakes, lights, tires, and other safety equipment
- Report any mechanical faults or defects promptly
4. Compliance & Regulations
- Adhere to all transport regulations and safety standards set by authorities (e.g., LTA regulations in Singapore)
- Ensure proper documentation such as driving license, logbooks, and permits are valid
5. Emergency Handling
- Respond effectively to emergencies such as accidents, breakdowns, or passenger incidents
- Follow company emergency procedures and report incidents immediately
6. Ticketing & Reporting (if applicable)
- Handle fare collection or ticket validation (for certain services)
- Maintain accurate trip records and submit daily reports
7. Cleanliness & Upkeep
- Ensure the bus is clean and presentable at all times
- Report cleaning or maintenance needs
8. Time Management
- Maintain punctuality and adhere to assigned schedules
- Coordinate with dispatchers or operations team for any delays or route changes
Optional (For Senior / Lead Bus Captain)
- Train and mentor junior drivers
- Assist in route planning and operational improvements
- Support management in safety audits and compliance checks
