Assistant Restaurant Manager
1. Operational Support
- Assist the Restaurant Manager in overseeing daily front-of-house operations.
- Supervise service flow and coordinate with kitchen and bar teams for smooth execution.
- Manage reservations, table allocation, and waitlists to ensure efficient seating.
- Ensure cleanliness, organisation, and hygiene of dining and service areas.
- Support the opening and closing procedures of the restaurant.
- Help with POS operation, order processing, and cash handling when required.
2. Staff Supervision & Training
- Supervise and guide service staff (waiters, hosts, runners) during shifts.
- Provide on-the-job training to new staff and help enforce service standards.
- Assist in creating weekly staff schedules and managing shift coverage.
- Step in to lead the team during the absence of the Restaurant Manager.
3. Customer Service
- Greet and engage with guests to ensure a welcoming and positive experience.
- Handle guest feedback, complaints, and special requests professionally.
- Monitor service quality and suggest improvements to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Build rapport with regular customers and encourage return visits.
4. Inventory & Supplies
- Monitor usage and stock levels of restaurant supplies (e.g., napkins, cutlery, condiments).
- Assist with stock checks and ordering processes in coordination with the Restaurant Manager.
- Report shortages, wastage, or operational issues promptly.
5. Financial & Administrative Tasks
- Assist with petty cash handling and reconciliation of daily sales.
- Help with compiling sales reports and operational checklists.
- Ensure compliance with billing and payment procedures.
6. Health, Safety & Compliance
- Monitor food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards on the floor.
- Ensure team compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Participate in regular checks and audits related to cleanliness and food handling.
7. Marketing & Promotions Support
- Help promote special menu items, events, or offers to customers.
- Support the implementation of marketing campaigns in the restaurant.
- Assist with taking and posting photos or stories for social media when required.
Additional Duties
- Take over managerial duties in the absence of the Restaurant Manager.
- Participate in team meetings and briefings.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Restaurant Manager or senior management.
