Job Description

We are looking for a dynamic and hands-on Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in overseeing daily operations and driving excellence in our retail environment. The successful candidate will be a results-oriented leader capable of motivating the team to meet sales targets while ensuring a seamless shopping experience for our customers.

You will play a critical role in inventory management, cost control, and maintaining high operational standards. This role requires a high degree of commitment and flexibility, including the ability to work across various shift patterns to support the business during peak periods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Leadership: Support the Store Manager in the overall management of daily operations to ensure the store runs efficiently and profitably.

  • Sales Performance: Assist in driving the team to achieve and exceed daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets. Monitor sales trends and proactively identify opportunities for growth.

  • Customer Excellence: Lead by example in providing efficient, fast, and helpful service. Handle customer inquiries and feedback with professionalism and a customer-first mindset.

  • Merchandising & Inventory: Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked store. Manage stock levels, including ordering, receiving, and performing regular inventory controls.

  • Quality Control: Stringently monitor product expiry dates and ensure proper product display according to company merchandising standards.

  • Supply Chain Coordination: Liaise with suppliers and delivery teams to ensure timely replenishment and accurate stock arrivals.

  • Cost Management: Assist in controlling operational costs and minimizing wastage to ensure maximum store profitability.

Job Requirements

  • Shift Flexibility (Crucial): Must be fully committed to a flexible roster. This includes the ability to work three rotating shifts, as well as regular attendance on weekends and Public Holidays (PH).

  • Experience: Proven experience in retail operations or a supervisory role is preferred.

  • Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate effectively with both internal teams and external suppliers.

  • Attributes: A proactive can-do attitude, physically fit for stock replenishment duties, and a keen eye for detail regarding inventory and cleanliness.

  • Language: Proficiency in English is required
