Job Description
- Assist the Food & Beverage Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant and bar, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
- Supervise, lead, and support service staff and bartenders to maintain high standards of service, professionalism, and guest satisfaction.
- Conduct daily pre-shift briefings, allocate duties, and ensure adequate manpower deployment based on business levels.
- Assist with staff scheduling, attendance monitoring, manpower planning, and shift arrangements for both floor and bar teams.
- Monitor guest satisfaction across the dining and bar areas, respond to feedback, and resolve guest complaints promptly and professionally.
- Ensure all staff consistently adhere to service standards, operating procedures, hygiene requirements, workplace safety standards, and responsible alcohol service practices.
- Coordinate closely with the kitchen and bar teams to ensure timely, efficient, and seamless service throughout the outlet.
- Oversee daily bar operations, ensuring beverage quality, presentation, consistency, cleanliness, and adherence to established standards.
- Ensure responsible alcohol service and compliance with all applicable local licensing and regulatory requirements.
- Train, coach, and develop service staff and bartenders in service techniques, product and menu knowledge, guest engagement, and upselling techniques.
- Oversee table, bar, and service station setup, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and overall outlet presentation are maintained at all times.
- Monitor billing procedures and ensure accurate handling of payments, including cash, credit card transactions, and bar tabs.
- Take an active role in floor and bar operations during peak periods, providing hands-on support and ensuring service standards are maintained.
- Prepare and place daily and weekly beverage and bar supply orders based on business levels, par stock requirements, and operational needs.
- Check and verify all deliveries against purchase orders, ensuring accuracy in quantity, quality, and specifications.
- Monitor beverage and bar inventory levels, stock movement, and consumption.
- Complete monthly stock takes, ensuring accurate physical counts, investigation of variances, and timely submission of stock reports in accordance with finance and audit requirements.
- Support inventory and cost control initiatives by minimizing wastage, maintaining proper stock rotation using FIFO principles, and ensuring appropriate storage practices.
- Maintain effective communication with management and other departments to ensure smooth daily operations and timely resolution of operational issues.
- Carry out any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Food & Beverage Manager.
Requirements & Qualifications
- At least 3 years experience in a supervisory role in Food & Beverage, including bar operations
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Good knowledge of beverages, cocktails, and bar service standards
- Understanding of responsible alcohol service and local regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
- Strong problem-solving and customer service skills
- Basic financial, POS, and inventory management skills
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays
