Job Description

The NTU Student Affairs Office (SAO) plays a pivotal role in fostering the holistic development of students. We collaborate and co-create a vibrant, meaningful, and enriching student life experience through:

  • Student-led activities and leadership development initiatives

  • Residential hall programmes and integration efforts

  • Community engagement and overseas service-learning projects

  • Arts, sports, and wellness programmes

This role supports the end-to-end planning and delivery of the Science & Technology (S&T) Bridging Programme by coordinating stakeholder engagement, student onboarding and engagement initiatives, and pastoral support for students, while ensuring effective case support, sound governance, financial accountability, and compliance with programme and institutional requirements to deliver high-quality student experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with key stakeholders, including student mentors and relevant NTU offices, to plan and deliver pre-arrival, onboarding, and in-semester components of the Bridging Programme.

  • Plan and execute integration initiatives (e.g. briefings, cultural activities, community service, learning journeys, sports activities and experiential learning) to support students adjustment to university life and the local environment.

  • Monitor and support students facing academic or non-academic challenges and facilitate timely follow-up actions in collaboration with relevant stakeholders, including parents where appropriate.

  • Implement student support and wellbeing initiatives, such as hall visits and social-emotional learning workshops, etc.

  • Managing the mentoring and buddy programmes end-to-end, including recruitment, training, evaluation, and ongoing day-to-day advisory and coordination.

  • Provide operational and administrative support, including audit support, expense tracking and verification, data collection and reporting.

  • Support the implementation, administration, and continuous improvements of IT systems supporting the Bridging Programme.

  • Manage operational processes such as mentor allowance processing, procurement requests, intra-company billing, and home leave arrangements.

Requirements:

  • Degree in any discipline with at least 3 to 5 years of experience in planning, coordinating, and executing student programmes, events

  • Experience working with diverse student populations, including international students, and supporting their transition into higher education

  • Student-centric and service-oriented mindset, with sensitivity and empathy towards the transition and adjustment challenges faced by international students.

  • Demonstrated ability to plan ahead, anticipate operational needs, take ownership of assigned responsibilities, and make sound recommendations.

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to work effectively with university students and colleagues from diverse cultural and disciplinary backgrounds.

  • Highly organised and detail-oriented, with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently.

  • Comfortable operating in a dynamic environment and able to handle ambiguity with adaptability and professionalism.
