Job Summary
Our client in the Tai Seng area is seeking an Assistant Finance Manager to join and grow with their dynamic team. This sole-contributor role reports to the Finance Director and focuses on statutory compliance, reporting, and management reporting for the distribution business unit.
Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of monthly financial closing activities to ensure timely and accurate financial data consolidation
- Develop and deliver management reports that provide actionable insights to support business decision-making
- Coordinate statutory audits and prepare financial statements by liaising effectively with external auditors to ensure compliance
- Prepare and manage GST and corporate tax filings in collaboration with tax agents to meet regulatory deadlines
- Participate in monthly stock-taking and support inventory management to maintain accurate asset records
- Execute banking transactions and manage day-to-day financial operations to maintain smooth cash flow
- Review and support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency
- Prepare invoices, debit notes, and journal entries related to rebates, claims, and miscellaneous charges to maintain accurate accounting records
- Manage collections, apply receipts, and monitor debtor ageing to maintain current accounts and optimize cash flow
- Resolve customer billing queries, payment discrepancies, and disputes promptly to uphold customer satisfaction and financial accuracy
- Support daily cash reporting and monitoring to provide real-time financial status updates
- Prepare and submit government statistical reports as required to ensure compliance with regulatory obligations
- Perform ad-hoc accounting and finance tasks as assigned to support evolving business needs
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Experience managing full sets of accounts for an entity with approximately S$200 million in revenue and high volume transactions
- Prior experience in FMCG, supermarket, consumer goods, or fast-food industries
- Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy in financial reporting
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to work independently
- High level of confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive financial information
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
