Onitsuka Tiger embarked on a new chapter on 1 October 2018, operating quasi-independently within the same legal framework as ASICS Corporation. As we strengthen our organizational structure to support our growth in Southeast Asia, we are searching for a dedicated Assistant Finance Manager to actively engage in and support our business development initiatives.
The Assistant Finance Manager will provide accounting, tax, finance, planning, and strategic analysis support for Onitsuka Tiger Singapore and SEA operations. This role will work closely with Japan HQ's Finance team and SEA Finance teams to drive business growth and profitability while ensuring accurate financial reporting and analysis to comply with statutory requirements and HQ guidelines.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the full spectrum of accounting and finance functions, collaborating with OAP and supporting requirements from OHQ
- Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements and reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparation and review of journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
- Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations related to finance and accounting, including tax compliance and financial reporting requirements.
- Participate in budget and forecasting processes for OAP, collaborating with Onitsuka Tiger SEA Regional Director and OAP Business Management department to develop and monitor budgets and forecasts.
- Analyse financial information to provide insights and recommendations to Onitsuka Tiger SEA members and OHQ Business Management department, supporting business growth and profitability in the SEA region.
- Collaborate with OHQ Business Management department on financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis, providing regular updates on progress and performance data.
- Ensure consistency in financial reporting and analysis across the organization in coordination with OHQ Business Management department.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners, including auditors and tax advisors.
- Manage the team and provide guidance and support as needed, including coaching and development of team members.
- Identify and implement process improvements through cross-functional collaboration, including streamlining financial reporting and enhancing financial controls.
- Execute ad-hoc projects and initiatives as assigned by superior or management.
REQUIREMENTS
- At least 10 years of experience in a finance or accounting role.
- Professional accounting qualifications preferred (ACCA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of finance and accounting principles with knowledge of international accounting standards (IFRS)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Power BI is a plus
- Ability to work under pressure to meet timelines and adapt to fast changing business environment
