Application Support Engineer (1-Year Contract)

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Application Support Engineer for a 1-year contract to provide comprehensive support across front- and back-office operations. You will play a key role in ensuring seamless business processes, system reliability, and effective incident management.

This role requires close collaboration with stakeholders across multiple business functions, as well as technical teams, to ensure issues are resolved quickly and enhancements are delivered effectively. It is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys solving complex system challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide end-to-end support for front- and back-office applications, ensuring smooth business operations and system functionality.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Front Office (Business Managers, Finance, Compliance) and Back/Middle Office (Operations, Product Management) to understand requirements and resolve issues.
  • Coordinate and drive resolution of production incidents, applying Problem Management techniques to identify and address root causes.
  • Deliver on-call and on-site support on a rotational basis, including after-hours and weekends.
  • Develop and test functional and technical specifications for bug fixes and system enhancements.
  • Prioritize changes, track delivery, and ensure alignment with business needs.
  • Conduct release testing to minimize rollbacks and safeguard system stability.
  • Partner with Technology Architecture teams to validate system design and reduce operational risks.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience as an Application Support Engineer or in a similar support role within complex IT environments.
  • Strong knowledge of incident, problem, and change management practices.
  • Hands-on experience in troubleshooting applications, debugging, and performing root cause analysis.
  • Familiarity with release management and testing practices.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across technical and business teams.
  • Willingness to work on a rotational on-call schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and a collaborative mindset.
