As a private company operating in a high-growth sector, DC Byte has consistently expanded its global footprint. With a growing presence across Asia-Pacific, we are now looking for a Research Manager to lead our regional research capability from our Singapore office.
The Opportunity
This is a high-impact regional management role within DC Byte's global Research function.
The APAC Research Manager will be responsible for owning research delivery across the region, managing a regional team of analysts, and ensuring that the regional research output is accurate, timely, commercially relevant, and consistently aligned with our global research standards.
The role sits at the centre of our APAC operating model. You will work closely with Research, Commercial, Product, Marketing, Operations, and senior leadership to ensure that regional market intelligence is translated into high-quality data, insight, client delivery, and product value.
This is an opportunity to own a strategically important region in one of the fastest-growing segments of global digital infrastructure. You will shape APAC market coverage, develop the regional analyst team, support clients, and continue to mature our position as the leading source of data centre intelligence.
Who We're Looking For
We are looking for someone with strong regional research management experience, direct data centre sector knowledge, and the ability to operate confidently across data, people, clients, and internal stakeholders.
The successful candidate will bring:
Direct experience in the data centre sector, digital infrastructure, or a closely related market, with the ability to hold credible data centre market conversations from day 1.
Experience in research, market intelligence, data-led analysis, infrastructure intelligence, commercial real estate intelligence, or a related B2B information-services environment.
Experience managing teams, including responsibility for performance, coaching, prioritisation, workload management, and delivery quality.
A strong understanding of market intelligence, data collection, research operations, and how high-quality research supports commercial, product, and client outcomes.
Proven ability to manage research quality, delivery timelines, operating cadence, and competing priorities across a regional team.
Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience working across multiple functions and senior leadership teams.
Confidence in client-facing settings, including answering research questions, presenting market insights, and supporting senior stakeholder discussions.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex market developments into clear, structured, and commercially relevant insight.
High attention to detail, strong judgement, and the ability to maintain research integrity while operating in a fast-moving commercial environment.
Experience building structure in evolving markets, teams, or operating environments.
Comfort working across APAC markets, with an understanding of regional complexity, different levels of data maturity, and the need for strong local market context.
Commercial real estate, digital infrastructure, suppliers, cloud, energy, or construction-market experience would be valuable where combined with direct exposure to the data centre sector.

Key Responsibilities
Regional Research Management
Manage the APAC research function, ensuring high standards of quality, consistency, timeliness, and regional market coverage.
Own the regional research operating rhythm, including prioritisation, delivery planning, workload allocation, quality control, project execution, and management reporting across APAC markets.
Act as the regional quality owner, ensuring that data, commentary, and market intelligence are accurate, well-evidenced, and aligned with DC Byte's methodology.
Work with Research Operations Manager to resolve coverage gaps, plan fieldwork, implement improvements, and facilitate reporting on research metrics. Work with SVP Research to translate global research strategy into practical regional execution plans.
Support the continued development of APAC research approach, including improvements to datasets, methodologies, workflows, and regional market coverage.
Team Leadership & Development
Manage a team of 6 analysts based in our Singapore office, with expected team growth over the next 12-18 months.
Set clear expectations for research quality, delivery pace, communication, accountability, and professional standards.
Coach and develop analysts across different levels of experience, helping them build stronger market knowledge, industry relationships, research judgement, client awareness, and data discipline.
Establish a strong team operating cadence through regular check-ins, prioritisation reviews, quality reviews, and development and performance conversations.
Manage team bandwidth effectively across recurring data updates, client requests, market tracking, and strategic research priorities.
Lead hiring, onboarding, training, and progression of APAC Research team as the function grows. Build a team culture that values ownership, accuracy, curiosity, collaboration, and pace.
Stakeholder Management and Cross-Functional Collaboration
Act as the primary research partner for regional Commercial teams, ensuring that research priorities and client needs are clearly understood, assessed, and managed.
Work closely with Commercial leadership to support client delivery, market conversations, presentations, and regional insight needs.
Partner with Product and Operations to improve research workflows, platform usability, data governance, and the overall quality of DC Byte's offering.
Create clear communication loops between APAC Research and global Research leadership, ensuring regional risks, opportunities, priorities, and resource needs are visible.
Bring structure, clarity, and consistency to how research is planned, communicated, and delivered.
Client-Facing Research Delivery
Support client-facing delivery across APAC by answering client inquiries, contributing to client discussions, and presenting regional market insights where required.
Prepare and deliver clear, credible research presentations to senior external stakeholders, including clients, partners, and industry participants.
Support Commercial teams with research-led input for client conversations, renewals, strategic account discussions, and regional market education.
Respond to research-related requests from Marketing (including press & media requests), helping ensure DC Byte's external commentary is accurate, timely, and well-positioned.
Contribute to regional reports, market commentary, thought leadership, webinars, events, and other content that strengthens DC Byte's market presence.
Represent DC Byte externally at relevant conferences, events, and industry forums across APAC where appropriate.
Operational Excellence
Manage the APAC research operating model to ensure the team can deliver against recurring data obligations, client requests, platform updates, and strategic research priorities.
Improve regional ways of working across research planning, task allocation, quality assurance, client response handling, and internal communication.
Monitor regional delivery risks, capacity constraints, and quality issues, and escalate them with clear recommendations.
Ensure adherence to DC Byte's global research standards, data governance expectations, and quality-control processes, in line with Research Operations.
Help build a more consistent, transparent, and scalable APAC research function that can support both regional growth and global product development.
Working at DC Byte
This role is based in Singapore. APAC travel may be required as part of the role, including for client meetings, market engagement, conferences, and regional team collaboration.
