Accounting & Economics/Business Teacher (A-Level & Foundation)

Position Overview:
The Accounting & Economics/Business Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons aligned with the syllabus and scheme of work for both A-Level and International Foundation Year (IFY) students. In addition to teaching, this role involves providing mentorship, supporting academic and personal development, and preparing students for university admissions. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in both Accounting and Economics/Business subjects, with a particular focus on A-Level and IFY curricula.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching & Instruction

• Prepare and deliver lessons in Accounting, Economics, and Business, tailored to A-Level and IFY curricula.

• Implement Differentiated Teaching strategies to address diverse learning styles, ensuring every student receives the support they need.

• Conduct lessons that help students develop critical thinking, analytical skills, and a deep understanding of the subjects.

• Design and mark assignments, projects, and examinations, providing timely feedback to students.

• Provide academic counselling and guidance to help students succeed in their studies and achieve their university admission goals.

Classroom Management & Student Support

• Create a positive and disciplined classroom environment, addressing any discipline issues professionally.

• Identify students academic and personal needs and work collaboratively with the academic team to provide targeted support.

• Maintain regular communication with parents and the academic team to monitor student progress and well-being.

• Provide continuous mentorship, encouraging student engagement and development both academically and personally.

Curriculum Development & Collaboration

• Collaborate with other educators to review and develop curricula for A-Level and IFY students.

• Participate in departmental meetings, workshops, and professional development programs to stay up-to-date with teaching methods and subject knowledge.

• Contribute to the development and review of assessment methods, ensuring alignment with curriculum objectives.

• Oversee and provide guidance in non-academic or co-curricular activities as part of students holistic development.

Key Performance Targets

• Achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to student progress, engagement, and university preparation.

Skills & Experience:

• At least a Master's degree in Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field from a recognized university.

• Strong knowledge of Economics is required, along with proficiency in Accounting and Business subjects.

• Experience in teaching A-Level and/or International Foundation Year (IFY) students, with a proven track record of engaging and inspiring learners at advanced academic levels.

• Ability to break down complex concepts and deliver them in a clear, engaging, and approachable manner.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to interact effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.

• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment.

• Self-motivated, highly organized, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.

• Familiarity with digital tools and technologies that enhance teaching and learning.
