Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO) to oversee workplace safety and health compliance at a construction site in Tuas. The successful candidate will assist the WSH Manager in implementing safety measures, conducting inspections and ensuring compliance with relevant WSH regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular site safety audits and inspections, identify safety violations and ensure timely corrective actions by contractors.

• Identify potential workplace hazards, assess risks and evaluate the effectiveness of contractors risk control measures.

• Review contractors method statements, risk assessments and safe work procedures, and recommend appropriate safety measures.

• Assist the WSH Manager in investigating workplace incidents, preparing reports and recommending preventive measures.

• Liaise with main contractors, subcontractors, consultants and relevant authorities on workplace safety matters.

• Monitor and follow up on safety inspection findings to ensure compliance and timely closure.

• Ensure compliance with applicable workplace health, safety and infection prevention measures.

• Promote a positive safety culture through safety awareness, training and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Perform other relevant duties as assigned by the Reporting Manager.

Job Requirements

• Diploma in Engineering, Workplace Safety & Health or a related discipline.

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as a WSH Officer, preferably in the construction industry.

• Must be a MOM-registered Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO).

• Strong knowledge of workplace safety regulations, risk assessments and construction site safety practices.

• Able to manage and coordinate effectively with contractors, subcontractors and consultants.

• Good written and verbal communication skills.

• Self-motivated, responsible and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Able to meet deadlines and report effectively to the WSH Manager.

• Comfortable working at a construction site in Tuas.

• Able to commence work from mid-October 2026.
