Evaluate WSH non-compliance, unsafe work conditions, and practices to identify performance gaps.
Conduct monthly WSH audits of site works through joint site inspections with project stakeholders.
Review contractors submissions of safety-related documents.
Participate in WSH incident investigations (including after working hours when required) and assess findings to determine root causes.
Perform monthly reviews of the contractor's safety and health management systems in compliance with MOM WSH Act and relevant regulations, while advising the client on WSH matters when necessary.
Prepare and compile monthly WSH reports, including statistical updates and key insights.
Attend WSH committee meetings chaired by the contractor, as well as monthly client-contractor safety meetings.
Support quarterly safety campaigns and promotional activities organised by the contractor.
Join monthly safety site walks with the client.
Review incident reports submitted by contractors and recommend mitigation measures to prevent recurrence.
Liaise with relevant stakeholders on all WSH-related matters.
Submit comprehensive monthly WSH reports to the client, highlighting compliance status, gaps, effectiveness of mitigation measures, and additional recommendations.
Set up, monitor, update, and close out the Health and Safety Register for the project.
Handle ad-hoc assignments as required by the company.
Report to the Owner's Representative on-site and act as the Owner's representative for WSHO-related matters throughout the project.
Requirements
Possess a valid registration with MOM as Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO).
Preferably with at least minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in WSH relating to engineering, construction planning.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Excellent decision, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Familiar with local regulatory requirements related to workplace safety and health, and all other aspects of safety.
Able to work independently under minimum supervision, within a dynamic work environment.
