Workplace Safety Health Officer (WSHO)

Responsibilities

• Conduct risk assessments at project sites and recommend measures to minimize or eliminate risks to personnel
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and sustain a strong safety regime on site
• Lead toolbox meetings and ensure the permit to work system is properly enforced
• Apply and uphold the Company's QEHS Management System, WSH Act, and occupational safety and health practices consistently on site
• Liaise with Safety Managers on workplace safety, health, and environmental issues to maintain high safety standards
• Lead and advise teams on safety programs to improve workplace safety outcomes
• Review and maintain accurate site WSH records to ensure compliance and traceability
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Certificate in WSH Coordinator Course, Building Construction Supervisors Safety Course, or other relevant safety certifications from approved institutions
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the marine or construction industry
• Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate safety policies and collaborate with teams
• Ability to perform effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
