Given the high-risk and highly regulated nature of the semiconductor manufacturing environment, we are hiring a Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) to ensure strict compliance with Singapore's Workplace Safety and Health regulations. The WSHO will play a critical role in managing workplace risks, overseeing contractor and process safety, and driving a strong safety culture to support safe, reliable, and uninterrupted operations.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform the statutory duties of a Workplace Safety and Health Officer in accordance with the Workplace Safety and Health Act, subsidiary regulations, and applicable Codes of Practice.
- Develop, implement, and maintain the company's workplace safety and health policies, objectives, and programs to ensure compliance and continual improvement.
- Promote workplace safety and health awareness by identifying training needs and planning, developing, and conducting regular safety and health training programs.
- Conduct workplace inspections, internal audits, fault-tree gap analysis, and root cause analysis recommend and implement corrective and preventive measures to strengthen the WSH Management System.
- Investigate all workplace incidents, near misses, and accidents analyse trends and statistics, prepare reports, and implement effective control measures to prevent recurrence.
- Conduct safety inductions for employees, contractors, vendors, temporary staff, and visitors as required.
- Ensure effective implementation and monitoring of workplace safety and health programs for employees, contractors, vendors, and visitors.
- Provide guidance and oversight to contractors and sub-contractors to ensure compliance with safety rules and safe work practices during their course of work.
- Liaise and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including management, HQ, customers, authorities, vendors, and contractors, on workplace safety and health matters.
- Keep abreast of changes in local WSH legislation, standards, and industry best practices, and disseminate relevant updates to support continual improvement.
- Support safety-related projects, initiatives, and other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Environmental Management, Occupational Health and Safety, or a recognised Specialist Diploma in Workplace Safety and Health.
- MOM-registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO).
- Proven experience carrying out statutory duties as a WSHO experience as a Fire Safety Manager (FSM) is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of Singapore's workplace safety and health legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Prior experience in the Semiconductor industry is preferred.
- Good communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
- Able to work independently and exercise sound judgement in a regulated environment.
