Job Summary
You will lead the planning, management, and oversight of all health, safety, and environmental aspects for the Project, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations and driving continuous improvement in safety performance.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and updating of the Safety Management System Manual to ensure all project activities comply with established procedures and instructions
- Prepare and deliver monthly status updates to the Developer, including analysis of key leading and lagging indicators, identification of good work practices, and recommendations to address inadequacies in work systems or unsatisfactory practices
- Review and verify the Main Contractor's proposed method statements for risk assessment and safe working procedures, ensuring proper execution on site
- Monitor changes in relevant legislation and proactively communicate updates to the Project Superintending Officer(s) to maintain compliance
- Ensure timely notification to Project Superintending Officer(s) when corrective actions from workplace inspections are not implemented by the agreed deadlines
- Vet and endorse minutes of all safety-related meetings and other meetings as directed by the Developer to ensure accurate documentation and follow-up
- Implement and monitor safety measures in accordance with the Workplace Health and Safety Act to maintain a safe working environment
Required competencies and certifications
- Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer with MOM
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in the construction industry, preferably with a developer or main contractor
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Strong communication skills demonstrated through effective reporting and stakeholder engagement
- Proven ability to collaborate as a team player within cross-functional project teams
Other Information
- Work schedule: Weekly 5 days work ( Monday to Friday)
