We're seeking an experienced claims professional who enjoys solving complex cases, collaborating with a wide network of stakeholders, and driving improvements in claims delivery. This role offers the opportunity to manage an end-to-end portfolio while contributing to operational excellence within a well-established insurer.
The Opportunity
As a WICA Claims Executive, you'll oversee a portfolio of workplace injury claims, making informed decisions throughout the claims lifecycle while balancing customer outcomes, regulatory obligations, and commercial considerations. You'll work alongside legal professionals, medical experts, and internal stakeholders to deliver fair, timely, and compliant claims resolutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of WICA claims from initial notification through to final resolution, ensuring each case is handled efficiently and professionally.
- Evaluate accident circumstances, medical assessments, and supporting evidence to determine liability and appropriate compensation.
- Partner with lawyers, TPAs, loss adjusters, healthcare providers, and other external specialists to facilitate smooth claim progression.
- Apply sound judgement when establishing claim reserves, reviewing settlement strategies, and controlling overall claim costs.
- Ensure every claim is administered in accordance with WICA legislation, regulatory requirements, and internal governance standards.
- Respond confidently to enquiries and resolve complex or sensitive claim issues raised by customers, intermediaries, and business stakeholders.
- Produce meaningful claims insights and management reports, highlighting trends, portfolio performance, and areas of potential risk.
- Review existing claims processes, identify opportunities to improve efficiency, and support digital or operational enhancement initiatives.
- Maximise recovery opportunities through effective management of subrogation and other reimbursement avenues.
- Share technical knowledge by supporting colleagues through coaching, guidance, and participation in learning initiatives.
What We're Looking For
- Diploma or Degree in any discipline.
- Professional insurance qualifications, including BCP and ComGI.
- At least 3–5 years of experience managing WICA claims, with a solid understanding of the WICA 2019 framework.
- Strong technical claims assessment skills, including liability evaluation, reserving, and settlement negotiation.
