Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytically driven On-Chain Transaction Monitoring Investigator to support our compliance and risk function in the digital assets space. This role is critical in detecting, investigating, and mitigating financial crime risks across blockchain networks, ensuring adherence to global regulatory standards.
You will work at the intersection of compliance, blockchain analytics, and financial crime investigations, helping safeguard the integrity of our platform and ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct on-chain transaction monitoring across multiple blockchain networks (e.g. Ethereum, Bitcoin, TRON) to detect suspicious activities.
- Investigate alerts related to AML/CFT risks, including fraud, sanctions exposure, darknet activity, and illicit fund flows.
- Perform wallet attribution and clustering analysis to identify beneficial ownership and transaction patterns.
- Analyse complex transaction flows using blockchain analytics tools (e.g. Chainalysis, TRM Labs, Elliptic).
- Prepare and file Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) and support regulatory reporting obligations.
- Collaborate with internal teams (compliance, risk, product, operations) on case escalations and risk mitigation strategies.
- Maintain detailed investigation records and documentation to support audits and regulatory reviews.
- Stay updated on emerging typologies in crypto-related financial crime, including DeFi exploits, mixer usage, and cross-chain laundering techniques.
- Support development and enhancement of transaction monitoring rules, scenarios, and thresholds.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Law, Criminology, Computer Science, or related fields.
- 2–5 years of experience in AML investigations, transaction monitoring, or blockchain analytics.
- Strong understanding of blockchain technology, crypto transactions, and wallet mechanics.
- Hands-on experience with blockchain analytics tools (e.g. Chainalysis, TRM Labs, Elliptic) is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with global AML/CFT regulations (e.g. FATF guidelines, MAS regulations).
- Experience handling STR/SAR filings is a strong advantage.
- Strong analytical thinking and ability to interpret complex transaction flows.
- High attention to detail with strong documentation and reporting skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications such as CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist) or equivalent.
- Experience in Web3, crypto exchanges, payment institutions, or fintech environments.
- Exposure to DeFi protocols, NFTs, and cross-chain bridges.
- Basic knowledge of scripting or data tools (SQL, Python) for investigative analysis.
