Job Summary
The Warehouse & Logistics Supervisor leads daily warehouse operations, ensuring accurate inventory management, efficient logistics coordination, and compliance with safety standards. This role drives process optimization, staff development, ERP/WMS utilization, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily warehouse operations including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch to meet production and customer schedules
- Manage inventory accuracy through cycle counts, stock reconciliation, and timely ERP updates
- Implement and enforce SOPs, ISO standards, and company policies to maintain compliance and quality
- Plan and coordinate inbound and outbound shipments to optimize logistics flow and meet deadlines
- Supervise, train, and mentor warehouse staff to achieve performance targets and enhance skills
- Allocate tasks, monitor staff productivity, and conduct performance reviews to improve team effectiveness
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement through coaching and audits
- Enforce workplace safety standards and conduct regular safety inspections to prevent incidents
- Apply 5S principles to maintain an organized, efficient, and hazard-free warehouse environment
- Ensure aisles, racks, and storage areas are clear of obstructions, spills, and unnecessary items for operational safety
- Oversee proper disposal of packaging materials, pallets, and waste in designated areas to maintain cleanliness
- Ensure forklifts, pallet jacks, and equipment are safely parked, cleaned, and maintained after use
- Identify operational bottlenecks and implement process improvements to increase efficiency
- Prepare and present operational reports for management review and informed decision-making
- Execute special projects and additional duties as assigned to support business objectives
Required competencies and certifications
- Valid Forklift Operator License to support operational tasks and ensure compliance
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written) for effective reporting, documentation, and communication
- Minimum 3-5 years of warehouse/logistics experience including 1-2 years in supervisory or team leader roles
- Proven skills in inventory control, ERP/WMS systems, and freight coordination
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or Mechanical/Industrial Engineering
- WSQ certifications in Logistics Operations, Inventory Management, or Workplace Safety (added advantage)
- Awareness or auditor training in ISO 9001 / ISO 45001 standards
- Experience with Syspro ERP preferred knowledge of SAP or Oracle ERP also valued
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
