VP/SVP - Investment Risk, Private Bank

About Our Client

Our client is a leading global private bank with a strong presence across Asia, serving high and ultra-high-net-worth clients. As part of its continued investment in regional risk capabilities, the bank is strengthening its second line of defence across investment and operational risk.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead second line oversight on investment suitability risk across wealth management activities

• Ensure alignment of investment recommendations with client profiles, regulatory standards, and internal policies

• Identify and mitigate suitability risks, partnering closely with Compliance and Investment teams

• Drive enhancements to suitability frameworks, governance, and monitoring practices

• Conduct portfolio reviews and leverage data to identify gaps in suitability and advisory practices

• Monitor key risk indicators and escalate issues to senior stakeholders

• Conduct risk assessments, scenario analysis, and risk mapping to identify emerging risks

• Implement risk controls and mitigation strategies across business activities

• Support new product approvals and change risk assessments from a risk perspective

• Provide advisory to business units on risk, controls, and regulatory expectations

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience within private banking, wealth management, or investment risk

• Strong expertise in investment suitability, asset management risk, and regulatory frameworks

• Good understanding of investment products and derivatives

• Proven experience in risk frameworks, controls, and governance

• Strong analytical and data capabilities; familiarity with tools such as Excel, Tableau, PowerBI, Python or SQL is advantageous

• Confident stakeholder manager, with the ability to influence senior business leaders

• Strong communication and presentation skills

• Highly organised, disciplined, and able to manage multiple priorities
