Job Description

  • Bond Investment Book Management: Manage the fixed income investment portfolio (USD High Grade Investment Credit and Local Currency bonds) with a focus on liquidity and profitability.
  • Risk Management: Actively monitor and manage portfolio risks, including credit risk, interest rate risk, and liquidity risk, while strictly adhering to internal bank risk limits and regulatory requirements.
  • Credit Risk Management: Actively monitor and manage the credit risk of the bond portfolio, including responsibility for the credit approval submissions and ALCO reporting.
  • Liquidity Management: Manage the liquidity profile of the Bond Investment Book to ensure optimal cashflows and adequate buffers for liquidity stress scenarios.
  • Trading: Provide operational back-up and coverage for other traders.
  • Internal Governance and Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all trading activities adhere to approved internal risk limits and all relevant regulations.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay abreast of Asian and global market trends, geopolitics, regulatory changes, and economic developments, providing timely insights to internal stakeholders.
  • Relationship Management: Collaborate closely with other internal teams to identify new investment opportunities, trade ideas, hedging solutions, and drive cross-selling. Manage interbank treasury activities and interbank relationships to improve the bank's access to market liquidity.
  • Others: To assist in other Treasury-related responsibilities and ad-hoc projects as and when required by the Head of Treasury and Markets.

AML/CTF Responsibilities

  • Comply with anti-money laundering / counter terrorist financing requirement and sanction risks controls in accordance with regulatory standards and CNCBI policies.

Qualifications

1. Education

  • Degree Holder or equivalent professional qualification

2. Working Experiences

  • Minimum 5 years in the credit trading, credit analysis, or bond investments.
  • Exposure in MM, FX and interest rates trading would be an added advantage.
  • Good track record of revenue generation
  • Sound market and product knowledge

3. Professional Qualification / HKMA Enhanced Competency Framework Qualification / Professional Examination / License

  • Financial Markets Regulatory Practice (FMRP) Examination
