Video Editor Social Media Content (Freelance, Remote)

A Cologne-based social media and performance marketing agency is seeking a freelance video editor to join its team starting in October 2025, with the option of transitioning into a permanent position in the future. The agency specializes in supporting medical practices and clinics, enhancing their reach, visibility, and patient engagement through engaging social media content and targeted ads. The role focuses on editing short-form videos for platforms such as TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook Reels, and YouTube Shorts, ensuring each piece is aligned with current trends and optimized for performance.

Responsibilities

• Edit 1260 short-form videos per month (4090 seconds each) for TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook Reels, and YouTube Shorts
• Incorporate subtitles, captions, and thumbnails to boost accessibility and engagement
• Adapt videos to reflect the latest social media trends and platform-specific best practices
• Collaborate closely with the marketing team to bring creative concepts to life
• Ensure consistent quality, pacing, and storytelling across all edited content
• Deliver polished assets on time, ready for immediate publishing and ad use

Skills and Requirements

• 12 years of experience editing social media or short-form content
• Strong proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro with the ability to edit efficiently and creatively
• Basic knowledge of Canva for creating thumbnails and simple design elements
• Strong understanding of social media video formats, pacing, and platform-specific nuances
• Ability to coordinate effectively in a remote team environment
• Attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple edits simultaneously
• Nice to have: experience with Adobe After Effects and a strong sense of storytelling for short-form content
