Job Description
The Vice President, Power Systems Division will serve as the overall business leader of the Power Systems Division across the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, with end-to-end responsibility for business growth, commercial performance, project execution, customer management and aftersales operations.
The role will lead the Division's Sales, Key Account Management, Business Development and Operations functions, including Project Management, Application Engineering, Commissioning and Aftersales Service.
The Vice President will be responsible for developing and executing the Division's regional business strategy, driving revenue and profitability, expanding market share, developing strategic customers and channels and ensuring the successful delivery and lifecycle support of Power Systems solutions.
The role will work closely with HQ, Finance, Product, Engineering, Procurement and other corporate and regional functions to ensure alignment of business strategy, product portfolio, commercial objectives, operational capabilities and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Overall Division Leadership and Business Strategy
- Provide overall strategic and operational leadership for the Power Systems Division across APAC.
- Lead the Division's Sales, Key Account, Business Development and Operations functions.
- Develop and execute short-, medium- and long-term business strategies aligned with company and HQ objectives.
- Establish regional business priorities, growth targets, market development strategies and operating plans.
- Drive the Division's overall business performance from market development and customer acquisition through project execution and aftersales support.
- Identify new markets, applications, customer segments, strategic partnerships and business opportunities.
- Ensure effective alignment between commercial strategy, product strategy, operational capabilities and market requirements.
- Provide strategic recommendations and regular business updates to senior management and HQ.
Profit and Loss, Revenue and Margin Management
- Take overall responsibility for the Division's revenue, gross margin, profitability and financial performance.
- Lead annual budgeting, business planning, forecasting and target-setting.
- Monitor revenue order intake, backlog, gross margin, pricing, product mix, project profitability and operating costs.
- Review financial performance across countries, business segments, products, customers and projects.
- Identify key drivers of revenue and margin performance and implement corrective actions where required.
- Work closely with HQ and Finance on revenue and margin reporting, forecasting, financial planning and performance reviews.
- Ensure commercial and operational decisions support sustainable revenue growth and profitability.
Sales Leadership
- Lead the overall regional sales strategy and organisation for the Power Systems Division.
- Establish sales targets, priorities, customer strategies and market development plans across APAC.
- Drive order intake, sales pipeline development, customer acquisition, market penetration and revenue growth.
- Oversee sales performance across countries, segments, products and channels.
- Develop strategies to improve sales productivity, conversion, customer coverage and sales effectiveness.
- Ensure close coordination between Sales, Key Account, Business Development, Product, Engineering and Operations teams.
- Review major quotations, tenders, commercial proposals and strategic opportunities as required.
Key Account Management and Customer Development
- Lead the development and management of strategic and key customer relationships across APAC.
- Establish key account strategies, customer development plans and long-term partnership initiatives.
- Personally engage with major customers and strategic accounts on significant commercial and operational matters.
- Identify opportunities for account expansion, cross-selling, product penetration and long-term business growth.
- Ensure customer requirements and feedback are effectively communicated to Product, Engineering, Service and HQ teams.
- Monitor customer satisfaction, relationship health, commercial performance and future business opportunities.
Business Development and Market Expansion
- Lead regional business development strategy and identify new business opportunities across APAC.
- Evaluate new markets, applications, industries, customer segments, partnerships and business models.
- Develop market-entry strategies and commercialisation plans for new opportunities.
- Build strategic relationships with OEMs, EPCs, dealers, distributors, system integrators and other business partners.
- Drive initiatives to increase market share and strengthen the Division's competitive position.
- Work closely with Marketing and Product teams on market intelligence, market sizing, competitive analysis and product positioning.
Pricing, Channel and Commercial Strategy
- Lead regional pricing strategy in collaboration with HQ, Finance, Product, Sales and Business Development.
- Establish pricing principles that balance market competitiveness, revenue growth and profitability.
- Review pricing performance and identify opportunities to improve margin and commercial returns.
- Lead dealer and distributor strategy, including channel development, performance management, coverage and optimisation.
- Develop appropriate channel structures for different countries, customer segments and applications.
- Oversee major commercial negotiations and strategic agreements where required.
Operations and Project Execution
- Provide overall leadership for the Operations function, covering Project Management, Application Engineering, Commissioning, and Aftersales Service.
- Ensure effective execution of projects from order handover through installation, commissioning, customer acceptance and aftersales support.
- Establish operational priorities, performance standards, resources and accountability across the regional operations organisation.
- Monitor project execution, schedule, cost, quality, technical performance and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure appropriate coordination between Sales, Project Management, Engineering, Commissioning, Service, Supply Chain and HQ.
- Identify and address project risks, execution issues, resource constraints and customer escalations.
- Drive continuous improvement in project delivery, operational efficiency, quality and cost management.
Application Engineering and Technical Solutions
- Oversee the regional Application Engineering function and ensure technical solutions are aligned with customer requirements and commercial objectives.
- Ensure effective technical evaluation of projects, applications, specifications and customer requirements.
- Work with HQ Engineering and Product teams on technical solutions, product adaptation and complex applications.
- Ensure technical risks and requirements are identified during the commercial and project development stages.
- Strengthen the integration between Sales, Application Engineering, Project Management and Commissioning.
Commissioning and Aftersales Service
- Oversee regional commissioning and aftersales service operations.
- Ensure commissioning activities are planned and executed effectively to achieve project completion and customer acceptance.
- Establish service capabilities and resources to support the installed base across APAC.
- Drive aftersales business development, service revenue, parts sales, maintenance and lifecycle support opportunities.
- Monitor service quality, response time, warranty exposure, customer satisfaction and recurring service issues.
- Develop strategies to improve customer retention and long-term lifecycle value.
- Work with HQ on technical support, warranty matters, product improvements and service capability development.
Market Intelligence and Business Analytics
- Lead the use of market and commercial data to support strategic decision-making.
- Monitor market size, market share, market growth, competitor performance, pricing, customer trends and industry developments across APAC.
- Establish regular business intelligence and performance dashboards for the Division.
- Analyse revenue, margin order intake, backlog, sales pipeline, project performance and aftersales performance.
- Translate business data into actionable recommendations and strategic initiatives.
- Ensure consistent and accurate reporting across countries and business segments.
HQ and Regional Coordination
- Serve as the senior business interface between the Power Systems Division in APAC and HQ.
- Work closely with HQ on business strategy, revenue, margin, pricing, product portfolio, major projects, technical matters and aftersales support.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of regional business performance to HQ.
- Coordinate with HQ on product development, supply, technical support, commercial policies, major customer requirements and strategic opportunities.
- Communicate APAC market requirements and customer feedback to HQ and ensure appropriate follow-up.
- Drive alignment between HQ objectives and regional business execution.
Organisation and Talent Leadership
- Build and lead a high-performing regional organisation covering Sales, Key Account, Business Development, Project Management, Application Engineering, Commissioning and Aftersales Service.
- Establish organisational structures, manpower plans, responsibilities, KPIs and performance expectations.
- Develop strong country and functional leadership capabilities.
- Identify and develop key talent and future leaders within the Division.
- Promote cross-functional collaboration and accountability across commercial and operational teams.
- Ensure the organisation has the required technical, commercial and operational capabilities to support future growth.
Risk Management and Governance
- Ensure the Division operates in accordance with company policies, applicable laws, regulatory requirements and internal governance standards.
- Identify and manage key commercial, contractual, financial, project, technical, operational and customer risks.
- Establish appropriate risk mitigation measures for major projects, customers, markets and business activities.
- Ensure appropriate approval and governance processes are followed for significant commercial and operational decisions.
- Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, compliance, accountability and business integrity.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, Marketing or a related discipline. An MBA or Master's degree is an advantage.
- Minimum 15 years of relevant experience, with significant experience in senior leadership positions within power systems, power generation, engines, energy, industrial equipment, construction machinery or related industries.
- Proven experience in regional or multi-country business leadership, preferably across APAC.
- Demonstrated experience managing a business with responsibility for revenue, profitability, sales, operations and customer delivery.
- Strong P&L management and commercial acumen, including experience in budgeting, forecasting, pricing, margin management and business performance analysis.
- Strong experience in sales leadership, key account management, business development and strategic customer management.
- Demonstrated experience overseeing project execution, engineering, commissioning and/or aftersales service functions.
- Strong understanding of power systems, power generation, engines or related technical products and applications.
- Experience managing dealers, distributors, OEMs, EPCs, system integrators and other strategic business partners.
- Strong understanding of APAC markets and regional business development.
- Proven ability to lead large, cross-functional and multicultural teams across multiple countries.
- Strong strategic thinking, commercial judgement, decision-making, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong executive communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior management, HQ, major customers and strategic partners.
- Experience working in a multinational organisation with regional and HQ structures.
- English proficiency is required; Mandarin is an advantage for communication with HQ and Chinese-speaking stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel extensively across APAC as required.
