We are seeking a Venture Capital Associate to work directly with senior management and founder across the full investment lifecycle, from sourcing and diligence through execution and portfolio support.

Responsibilities

Deal Sourcing & Market Development

Proactively source and originate high-quality investment opportunities through founder outreach, ecosystem engagement, and systematic and thematic research.

Build and maintain strong relationships with founders, operators, co-investors, and other ecosystem participants

Represent OXZ Capital at industry events, conferences, and private founder gatherings

Track emerging trends, technologies, and business models relevant to OXZ's investment focus

Deal Evaluation & Screening

Conduct initial evaluation of inbound and outbound opportunities, assessing strategic fit, market potential, and execution risk

Develop and manage a prioritized pipeline of potential investments

Prepare concise investment summaries and recommendations for internal discussion

Due Diligence & Execution

Lead and support financial, commercial, and operational diligence across live deals

Build and review financial models, unit economics, and scenario analyses

Draft investment memos and supporting materials for internal and external decision-making

Work closely with senior investors on deal structuring, negotiations, and closing processes

Portfolio & Firm Support

Support portfolio companies with research, analysis, and ad-hoc strategic projects

Assist with fund-level initiatives, including market mapping, portfolio monitoring, and internal process development

Contribute to OXZ Capital's thought leadership and investment strategy development

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, engineering, or a related field; advanced degree a plus

Preferred 14 years of experience in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, consulting, growth equity, or a high-growth startup role

Preferred strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with the ability to form independent investment judgments

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to synthesize complex information clearly and persuasively

High ownership mindset: proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating with autonomy

Strong interest in startups, technology, and entrepreneurship

Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and a founder-first mentality
