Job Description

Role Overview:

The Urban Planning Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and managing urban infrastructure projects to create sustainable, efficient, and safe urban environments. This role combines engineering expertise with urban planning principles to optimize land use, transportation, utilities, and public spaces.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Urban Planning & Design
  • Develop master plans and design proposals for urban development projects.
  • Assess land use, zoning regulations, and environmental impact.
  • Integrate sustainable design principles into urban planning projects.
  1. Infrastructure & Project Engineering
  • Plan and oversee the construction of roads, utilities, drainage, and public spaces.
  • Coordinate with civil, structural, and transportation engineers to ensure integrated project designs.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost assessments for urban projects.
  1. Regulatory Compliance & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Ensure all designs comply with local urban planning, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Engage with government agencies, developers, and community stakeholders.
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for approvals.
  1. Sustainability & Smart City Initiatives
  • Incorporate smart city concepts, renewable energy, and green infrastructure where possible.
  • Evaluate and recommend solutions for efficient land and resource use.
  1. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize project outcomes.
  • Stay updated with urban planning trends, technologies, and best practices.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in urban planning, civil engineering, or infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of Singapore urban planning regulations and standards is a plus.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, GIS tools, and project management tools.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively in a team environment.
