Trading Operations Specialist

About the Role

• Our client is a well-established commodity trading house with a strong presence in the metals space. They are looking for a Trade Operations Specialist to join their Trade Operations team.

The Role

• Manage end-to-end shipment execution in accordance with contractual terms and regulations.
• Handle shipping documentation, port declarations, insurance applications, and LC preparation and negotiation directly with banks.
• Verify and process payments to suppliers, freight forwarders, and warehouses; generate customer invoices.
• Perform warehouse management activities including receipts, releases, stock reconciliation, and billings.
• Monitor shipment status, cashflow, and receivables; follow up on delayed payments.
• Coordinate with office and warehouse providers on customs documentation and month-end reconciliation.

What we are looking for

• 3–5 years of relevant trade operations experience.
• Experience in non-ferrous commodities such as Aluminium, Base Metals, or Molybdenum preferred; container shipment experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of UCP600, LC negotiation, and Incoterms (CIF, CFR, Ex Works).
• Familiarity with LME pricing and warehousing rules an advantage.
