RESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical Duties
- To provide effective Occupational Therapy/ Physiotherapy treatment for clients in the different care settings under the guidance of the therapists and/or therapy associates
- Prepare and set up therapy materials and equipment for patient's/ client's use.
- Performing prescribed treatments as instructed by the therapists with supervision
- Supervise prescribed exercises or therapy activities.
- Communicate information of therapy sessions to the therapists.
- Document patient's/ client's progress and records accurately.
- Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic interventions as instructed by therapists
- Conduct basic or routine group therapy
- Maintain good communication with all members within the multidisciplinary team
Education & Training
- Participate and take on ownership of his/her individual training plan
- Participate in departmental in-service training and other external relevant training
- Participate in research and quality improvement projects
Administration & Operation
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of therapy areas
- Adhere to infection control procedures
- Maintain inventories and equipment for the department
- Provides input and support in work group meeting to enhance quality care to the residents
- Able to identify problems and make recommendations within the department and center
Other Duties
- Perform other duties as assigned by the therapists and/or Head, Allied Health
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Relevant certification or qualification in therapy support
- Experience working in intermediate and long-term care sectors or relevant experience working with the elderly or people with disabilities
- Possess basic computer skills in Microsoft Office
- A team player
- Able to multi-task and work independently
- Positive and client-centered with great interpersonal, communication, and collaboration abilities
