Test Manager owns the endtoend testing function, defining test strategy, leading the QA team, and ensuring releases meet agreed quality standards. The role combines strategic planning with handson coordination of test execution across projects and squads.
Key responsibilities
- Define and maintain overall test strategy, test plans, scope, and approach for projects (functional, regression, integration, performance, and UAT).
- Lead and mentor a team of testers/QA engineers, manage resource allocation, and promote best practices in test design, automation, and documentation.
- Oversee planning and execution of test cycles; ensure defects are logged, prioritised, and driven to closure through structured defect management.
- Track and report test progress, quality metrics, risks, and releasereadiness to stakeholders and project leadership.
- Implement and continuously improve test processes, including shiftleft testing, CI/CD integration, and increased automation coverage.
Requirements
- 5+ years in software testing including 23+ years in a lead or Test Manager role.
- Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail), and automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, JMeter).
- Experience managing testing in Agile/DevOps environments; comfortable aligning test activities with sprints and release cycles.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholdermanagement skills; ISTQB/Test Manager or similar certification preferred.
