Description
Responsibilities
- Lead the maintenance and overhaul of diesel engines, ensuring compliance with naval standards and specifications.
- Diagnose mechanical and technical issues with diesel engine systems, implementing prompt and effective solutions to maintain vessel operational readiness.
- Supervise and mentor junior technicians and apprentices, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams and other trades to coordinate maintenance schedules and ensure timely completion of maintenance activities.
- Conduct regular inspections and condition monitoring of diesel engine components, recommending preventive maintenance actions to reduce downtime.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, technical reports, and documentation in compliance with company policies and naval regulations.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and environmental regulations during all maintenance and repair activities.
Requirement
- Proven experience as a technician specializing in diesel engines, preferably within the marine or naval maintenance sector.
- Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills with a deep understanding of diesel engine systems and components.
- Ability to lead and work within technical teams, demonstrating effective communication and leadership skills.
- Familiarity with naval maintenance standards.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement practices.
- Relevant technical qualifications and certifications related to diesel engine technology and marine engineering.
