Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day technical management of assigned vessels, including maintenance, repairs, and dry-dockings.

  • Ensure compliance with flag state, class, statutory regulations, and company technical standards.

  • Manage planned maintenance systems (PMS), defect reporting, and technical documentation.

  • Coordinate with shipyards, service providers, makers, and suppliers for repairs and spares.

  • Prepare and control technical budgets, monitor costs, and ensure cost-effective execution.

  • Provide technical support to vessels, Masters, and Chief Engineers, including troubleshooting and incident follow-ups.

  • Participate in dry-dock planning, execution, and post-dock evaluation.

  • Work closely with HSQE, operations, and commercial teams to ensure safe and efficient vessel operations.

  • Review technical performance data and implement improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Class 1 or Class 2 Marine Engineer Certificate, or equivalent maritime engineering qualification.

  • Prior experience as a Technical Superintendent managing tanker vessels is strongly preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of marine engineering systems, dry-docking, and regulatory requirements.

  • Good budgeting, planning, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple vessels simultaneously.
